What is the capacity of guests at Vizcaya’s venue? Vizcaya can accommodate a total of 240 people for each event. The seated capacity is also dependent on your dinner style for the evening.

Does Vizcaya have guest count minimums? We do not have guest count minimums, but do have food minimums that clients must hit. Food minimums vary based on the time of year, day of week, and time of day. Ask your Sales Manager for specific information on the food minimum for your date.

Can I bring in my own caterer? We do take care of catering in-house and therefore do not allow outside caterers. However, we do allow all clients to provide one cultural appetizer and one cultural entree to accompany the items we provide. We also allow all clients to provide their own cake or desserts.

Why is buffet pricing more expensive than plated pricing? For buffet, we anticipate that your guests will try each dish that our Chef prepares, and go back for second options. The buffet stays open for an additional 10-15 minutes after the final guests make their selections.

Does Vizcaya require an alcohol package? Our unique beverage package allows our clients to provide their own alcohol at no additional cost. We do not charge a corkage fee for alcohol provided by our clients. We can accommodate beer (kegs or bottles), wine, or hard liquor. We provide the bartender, sodas, juices, Starbucks coffee, hot teas, iced tea, and standard mixers & garnishes.

Can I bring in my own vendors? Outside of catering, we allow our clients the flexibility to provide their own vendors. We do have a list of preferred vendors that we know work well at Vizcaya, but do not require our clients select vendors off this list. We require that ALL VENDORS working your event provide liability insurance with Vizcaya listed as additionally insured. All clients sign a DJ & Live Music Agreement as part of their contract, which lists our requirements for all DJ & Live Music vendors operating on our property. We highly encourage the use of our preferred DJs and require that any clients who desire to book a DJ outside of our preferred list confirm with their Event Coordinator prior to officially contracting with the outside DJ.

What is the payment structure and how can I make payments to Vizcaya? During your tour of the property, your Sales Manager will provide you with a cost estimate for your wedding. In order to officially book your date, a signed contract and 25% non-refundable deposit is required. Two additional non-refundable deposits of 25% will be scheduled between your contract date and wedding date. The final non-refundable deposit of 25% is due 3 weeks prior to your wedding date, and may change based on your final guest count, menu selection, and/or menu additions. All payments may be made via cash, check, or credit card. Credit card payments incur a 3.5% processing fee; however, we are happy to waive this fee for the first deposit.

Will Vizcaya hold a wedding date for me? Once you’ve done a tour with one of our Sales Managers, we are happy to offer a 5-day hold of your desired wedding date. We do not require a deposit or commitment for this 5-day period. If you place a date on hold, your Sales Manager will get in touch with you on the fifth day to confirm whether you are ready to move forward with a contract. If you would like to move forward with a contract, one will be drafted up and sent to you. You’ll have 5 additional days to sign your contract and submit your 25% non-refundable deposit to confirm your wedding date.

Do I need to provide event insurance? We require all clients to provide a certificate for $1 million general liability event insurance for your wedding, with Vizcaya listed as additional insured. This helps protect you in the event there is any substantial property damage that happens during your wedding.

Do I need to provide security? All evening events will incur a $250 security fee. Our security guard is onsite during your wedding in the event that they are needed.

Is a day-of coordinator included? Your wedding package includes a professional wedding coordinator. Your assigned coordinator will schedule 3 detail appointments prior to your wedding day to help walk you through the planning process, conduct a full rehearsal run-through on the day before your wedding, and be there for you on your wedding day.

Can I do a food tasting? Food tastings are offered to our booked clients for an additional fee. We do not offer tastings prior to booking your wedding, as we have a high volume of events and booked clients that we focus on accommodating at our tasting events. Ask your Sales Manager about the different food tasting options and pricing.

Does Vizcaya have a getting ready area? We have two separate getting ready areas (Suite & Lounge) for use on your wedding day. Morning clients have access to the Suite/Lounge from 7am-10:30am, while evening clients have access to the Suite/Lounge from 12pm-7pm. If we do not have a morning wedding, the evening client may arrive earlier as determined at 30 days out from the wedding date.

Does Vizcaya have private parking for events? All parking is street residential, but Vizcaya does have four parking spots on property that are first come first serve. U Street that is parallel to our Pavilion and 21st Street directly in front of our Mansion both offer free parking daily.

Does Vizcaya have a rain plan in the event of inclement weather? If your guest count is under 150 guests, we can accommodate all activities inside our Pavilion space.

Does Vizcaya have any decor restrictions? We do not allow anything to be hung from our walls, ceiling, landscaping, or lighting. All hanging decor must be free-standing. We do not allow the use of confetti, glitter, rice, seeds, or fake rose petals. We do allow real candles as long as the flame is contained in an enclosure such as a votive, lantern, or hurricane vase.

Are animals allowed on the Vizcaya property? We love our furry friends but they are only allowed for ceremony & must be on a leash. After the ceremony and any requested photos, they must leave the premises immediately. They are NOT allowed to stay in the rooms.

Does Vizcaya Sacramento allow for a “Grand Exit” after the wedding? We allow sparkler, bubble & glow stick exits. Have another idea for a Grand Exit? Ask your coordinator!

Does Vizcaya provide hotel accommodations? Our Bed & Breakfast includes 8 hotel rooms, which are available to our evening clients for the night of your wedding. We also work with local hotels in the area for clients who need a larger room block for their wedding guests.
